The film we (City on a Hill Productions) are working on here in Romania is about Richard and Sabina Wurmbrand and is based on their autobiographies, In God's Underground and The Pastor's Wife. They were Jewish converts to Christianity. He became a Lutheran Minister who brazenly and publicly defied the Post-World War Communist regime that was oppressing his country and persecuting the Church. As a consequence for this, and the Wurmbrand's "underground church" activities, he was imprisoned for 14 years - three of them in solitary confinement. His wife was imprisoned for three years, most of which she spent working at the Danube-Black Sea Canal Project in concentration camp-like conditions. Ultimately, their love for God and one another triumphed over Communist persecution.
After being ransomed to the West, they set up Voice of the Martyrs - a ministry that aids persecuted Christians across the world.
There are still mountains to move before all of this can become a reality and I ask for your continued prayers as we move forward.
